Introducing Nespresso typeface

The bespoke Nespresso alphabet can be definited as geometric mono-linear typeface. Some of its details come from vernacular italian lettering style, when other elements are typical from Art-déco style. Nespresso use typical Italian vocabulary for its products, following the same path, Nespresso typeface aim is to strenghten Italian typographic style, even as a delicate, subtile homage to the home of the best coffee in the world.

Fondateur de Typofonderie, directeur typographique chez ZeCraft l’expertise de Jean François Porchez couvre à la fois la conception de caractères sur mesure, le design des marques et le conseil typographique. Il a lancé TypeParis en 2015. Il donne réguliérement des conférences à travers le monde. Fait Chevalier dans l’ordre des Arts et Lettres en 2015. Il a reçu le Prix Charles Peignot en 1998, et un grand nombre de prix pour ses caractères typographiques. Entré au Who’s Who en 2009. En 2014, Perrousseaux éditeur publie sa monographie.

Around 2 am this night in Leipzig (even Hermann Zapf was present during this party), discussing with Bernhard Hofmacher from Linotype, I told him that their Platinum collection — started not long ago — offered only sanserifs from living designers (Adrian Frutiger…). Suggesting to them that great serif typefaces can be added to this collection too. Then Bruno Steinert came to join the discussion and he asked for names of typefaces I can think about: Sabon I replied, and explained why…
Then the story of Sabon next started this night.

Founder of Typofonderie, type director of ZeCraft, Jean François Porchez’s expertise covers both the design of bespoke typefaces, logotypes and typographic consultancy. He is a frequent speaker at conferences all over the world. He launched TypeParis in 2015. Knight in the order of Arts and Letters in 2015. He was awarded the Prix Charles Peignot in 1998 and numerous prizes for his typefaces. Introduced to French Who’s Who in 2009. In 2014, Perrousseaux publishes his monograph.
