CooperType 2012: First exercise, final

Last week, the group 2 have to design their first set of letters. Designed by hand (no rulers) on tracing paper, here after the results. As we will spend 4 more weeks, together, perhaps its time to present the students along their current project? What is good with theses portraits is that we can see on their eyes that something happening between them and letterforms. Magic instant.

The personal project

On Thursday 21 June evening, the group 2 presented their personal project, the one they will have to work on during the forthcoming 4 weeks. In our group 2, Etienne, Mark, Maria, Kevin, Ron and Raymond have decided to expend to a full typeface this first exercise. Edgardo and Cole found a vintage sign as starting point when Sarah and Manuel will focus on a type revival. Henrik working on a new Garalde. Matthew will mix TypeCooker specifications along one of its lettering project and Gilad select a 50’s brand. Its getting serious and ambitious, and the fabulous team will have to work very hard to finish their typeface in digital version, but not immediately as the forthcoming week is still tracing paper only mode.
